Review:  Ska legends Neville & Sugary Staple have hooked up to provide us with an amazing collaborative effort which marries ska, reggae and punk to create an album of memorable songs that have a worldwide social message, reminding us of the incredible work that Neville, The Specials and 2Tone Records have accomplished over the past almost 40 years.  They are joined in their effort by Roddy Radiation (aka Roddy Byers), the former guitarist of The Specials.  The entire album is full of energy, offering upbeat songs that need to be heard, and there is not a weak track among the bunch.  It is impossible not to move to these songs, but also take the time to listen to their lyrics, which speak to morals, life, fashion and love.  Share this one with people you love.

Review:  Canadian guitar virtuoso Erik Mehlsen brings his Del Suelo moniker to this collection of alternative songs that combine elements of reggae, funk, and rock to create a unique sound that will grab the listener’s ears while the well-crafted lyrical content occupies their mind.   According to their Facebook page, “The Musician’s Compass is a drama-comedy about a young folk-punk band on their way from one show to the next through hangovers, heartbreak, and bad gas station food.  A hilarious (and) provocative look at life on the road, commenting on music industry struggles, addiction, love, and mental-illness.”   This one is definitely worthy of your attention and time.
