Review:  Becky Buller is a superstar.  Not only was she a past winner of Female Vocalist of the Year, Fiddle Player of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Association, but she also co-wrote “Freedom,” a track on the recent Grammy-winning Laws of Gravity album for The Infamous Stringdusters.  Her expertise is immediately noticed and  heard on her latest effort, on which she wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks.  In addition, the album is replete with special guests, including Sam Bush, The Fairfield Four, Rhonda Vincent, Claire Lynch, Frank Solivan, Erin Youngberg and Rob Ickes.   This album is a dream for every bluegrass-loving fan, and every track lives up to the hype.  This one is surely one of the best bluegrass albums of the year, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it takes home next year’s Grammy.

Review:  Gus Spenos is a sax-playing machine, as evidenced on this sophomore effort.  It brings back memories of those big band influences of the past, like Lawrence Welk, Tommy Dorsey and currently, the Brian Setzer Orchestra.  His swinging blues will get your dancing feet moving and have you moving to the rhythm in no time flat.  Just put this one on repeat, because you’ll want to hear it over and over again.  It is good from start to finish.

Recommendation:  If you love to dance and swing, then take this one for a spin today.

Review:  Bluegrass seems to be in the air today, and the latest from Nefesh Mountain combines it with traditional Jewish folk music to create their own unique blend.  Band members Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff are joined by special guests Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tony Trischka and David Grier, making this sophomore effort a first rate smash.  They add so much to these traditional tunes that they truly make them their own.  Add to that the original tunes and you have the makings of a progressive bluegrass movement.

Recommendation:  Take the time to check these guys out.  We highly recommend you Get this one for your collection.

Review:  Kevin Campbell has moved beyond the folky blues sound of his first album on this sophomore release, bringing in a more funky pop/rock sound that would do well on the radio.  He has a solid voice that brings out the emotion of his well-crafted songs, which are upbeat and go down easy.    Best songs include “I Just Can’t Right Now,” the title track, “Addicted,”  “Take You In,” “Whatchu got is What I Need,” and “Find my Way.”

Recommendation:  Give this artist a spin.  We think you’ll find that he’s the perfect addition to your musical library
