Submission Guidelines (Updated)

UPDATE:  THESE ARE OUR UPDATED SUBMISSION GUIDELINES – PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU COMPLY WITH THESE GUIDELINES OR YOUR MATERIAL WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.

We do NOT listen to your submissions before we review them, so please DO NOT send follow-up emails asking for our opinions.  In addition, please DO NOT send us multiple emails about the same project.

Indie Voice Blog strives to publish approximately 20 album/EP reviews per week, as well as showcasing five each new singles and music videos in its Monday Mashup column.  However, due to the influx of new submissions, and the failure to adhere to our previous guidelines, we are now limiting our reviews as follows.  In addition, Due to our crazy work schedule, we are dropping the previous “day of the week” restriction and will publish these categories as we are able.

Monday Mashup will feature singles and videos, and recent artist news and updates.

Treats will feature reviews of artists we are familiar with and have previously reviewed.

Previously Unknown will feature new artists who have not been previously reviewed by this blog.

New Music will feature reviews of releases released within the current month.

In order to be reviewed, your request MUST include the following:

  1.  Either a streaming or download link to your album or EP or a shareable link (not private) for your single or video;
  2. A photo of the cover art;
  3. The actual release date of the project.  If the project has separate digital and physical release dates, please let us know which one you want to use; and
  4. The subject line must contain the release date, and which category you fall under.

We do not accept submissions via our Facebook pages (Indie Voice Blog and Bob Leggett, LA Music Critic) or via Messenger.  All submissions need to be sent to lamusiccritic@gmail.com.

In summary, the subject line needs to clearly state whether you are submitting a single or music video (Monday Mashup only) or an album/EP (Treats (you have been previously reviewed on our blog), Unknowns (never reviewed on our blog before) or New Music (projects to be reviewed on their release date – must be received AT LEAST two weeks before requested review date).

Thank you for your interest in being reviewed/featured in our blog.
