Monday mashup 2020 (vol 19)

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  We had a relaxing time with family, capped off with watching Wonder Woman 1984 for free on HBO MAX.  Now that the holiday is over, let’s cap off this year with our final Monday Mashup of 2020.

NEW SINGLES

Our first single is from WAMI and features Julia Shuren.  It is a smooth R&B tune that provides the perfect chill factor for this hectic holiday season.  Enjoy “Life is Good.”

Next up is the groovy surf sound of Very Cool on their second single, “Hot Rod Canoe.”  We love it!

Our third single this week is courtesy of The New Bardots, who leave us with the interesting proposal that “If Santa Claus Were President,” things might be a little different.  It’s worth your time to listen to their rationale.

Amy Steele has a dynamic voice and turns the pop hit “Our House” into a dreamy acoustic holiday extravaganza.  We can’t wait to see what comes next for this amazing artist.

Our final single to be featured in 2020 is a lovely live version of the classic “River” that could easily become  your favorite holiday song.  Thank you to Tawny Ellis for her creativeness is making this one the perfect song with which to end the year.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

We kick off the music video portion of our Mashup with the bluesy sound of ELEKTROHORSE featuring the powerful gospel vocals of Francesca Capasso.  Check out the song “Walk on Water,” and its stunning cinematography, but beware, these visuals will stay with you long after the video ends.

Next up is a dynamic lyric video from the hardest rocking guitarist in LA, the alluring Ali Handal.  She brings new life to The Beatles’ classic tune, “Come Together.”  This one’s a real keeper.

Welcome back to one of our favorite Scottish delicacies, the bodacious babe herself, Baby Taylah.  Her latest is also one of her best.  Check out “Good Enough.”

From Scotland we head to LA via Moscow for one of LA’s premier soft rock indie artists, the magnificent Marina V.  Here is her lyric video for Magical Christmas.  Let her voice and the words fill your heart this holiday season.

We close out 2020 with one of the most inspirational songs we have ever heard.  Many thanks to Eric Bellinger, Inigo Pascual, Sam Concepcion, Moophs, Zee Avi and Vince Nantes for reminding us that we need to “Rise (Together).”

Monday mashup 2020 (vol 7)

Sorry to have missed you last week.  Once again they changed our hours as a result of COVID-19, and I was supposed to only work three days.  Instead, I worked six days and didn’t have a day off until yesterday.  As a result, we are making this one a “double,” and including ten each of new singles and new music videos.  Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and let’s enjoy these new tracks.

NEW SINGLES

Our first single comes courtesy of publicist Kim Grant for her client, a rising Americana star named Kyle LaLone.  This one is perfect for today, and we wholeheartedly agree with his sentiments – “I’m not Gonna Drink Over You.”

Our second single comes from the uber-talented trio Lo Rays.  This song will leave a “Stain,” but it’s the type you don’t mind having.  Enjoy this modern indie rock song with a touch of the past, courtesy of this phenomenal band, currently based in Scotland.

Next up is the sound of Kadeema, which reminds us of the goodness of OneRepublic coupled with Imagine Dragons.  Check out their latest, “Good Lies,” and we think you’ll be a believer as well.

We next turn to a Washington, DC experimental-pop band for something positive in today’s bleak world.  We’re not sure exactly when this one came out, but we really dig their vibe.  Here is “Freaks” by The North Country.

Rounding out the first five singles is this new hip hop tune that deals with communication in a time of social distancing.  Check out Canadian buzz maker Ollie‘s latest, “Perfect Landing.”

Our second set of five kicks off with the debut single from UK alternative band In Earnest.  It’s entitled “Put me Under” and it perfectly describes the spell they weave with their beautiful sound.

Next up is the latest from Blue Élan Records artist Chelsea Williams.  Hard to believe this is the third single from her upcoming album, Beautiful & Strange.  It may be called “Wasted,” but you’re definitely not wasting your time enjoying this track.

Single number eight is from War Strings, who offer us “Tragedy (Lovesong).”  This one has a great groove and deserves serious airplay on Top 40 radio.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

Next up is another amazing London artist, this time a young lady named Francesca Louise.  Although she may be “Out of Sight (Out of Mind,” her music will stay with you long after the song ends.

Our final single this week is another debut, this time from Swedish retro rock band Kurbitz.  We love the strong vocals, the thoughtful lyrics and the overall sound of “Mona Lisa.”  We think we’ll be hearing a lot more from this band.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Last month we shared their lyric video for “Enough.”  Today we are proud to debut the official music video, which proves once again that The Spider Accomplice is the premiere indie modern rock band in the world.  Check out this amazing video and rock out to the uplifting vocals of the one and only VK Lynne, accompanied by the fiery chords of guitarist Arno Nurmisto.

We segue to another incredible rock band called The Recks.  Check out their interesting video for “The Milk’s Gone Bad.”

We really love this next music video, especially in these days of being apart.  Jont gives us an anthem for the future with his song, “I Think it Could be Possible.”  Let’s hope for the best.

Our fourth video comes from indie folk band Baneful Town.  This beautiful animated video brings life to their song “Flare Gun Eyes.”  We really love the harmonies.

Video number five is a poignant love song to the senior class of 2020.  Due to COVID-19, this year’s seniors are missing out on so much of the high school experience.  Teen sensation Maleena reminds us of what they’re thinking – “Don’t Forget About Me.”

Our next video is from our favorite Danish indie band, Belle and the Beats.  This one features an intriguing French rap from Reazun.  Check out “Habibi.”

LA singer/songwriter and actor Quinn L’Esperance also gives us a powerful lyric video for her song, “Human Connection.”  Listen carefully to the words of this one.  This one belongs on the radio.

Continuing in that same vein, Corinne Cook‘s latest, “Yes, I Can,” is a power anthem that states all things are possible if we simply believe.  Let this one resonate with your heart.

Next up is the rocking bluesy sound of Nicole Boggs and the Reel.  Their powerful video brings to life the words of “Money” and makes you stop and take account of your motivations.

We close out this week with an equally powerful and beautiful video from Scotland’s Baby Taylah that is breathtaking in its cinematography.  We definitely want to call those locations “Home.”

Monday mashup 2019: vol. 35

We’ve reached our final Monday Mashup of November, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Please take time this year to be thankful for family and friends, and for our military who fought for our freedom to celebrate.  Enjoy these new singles and music videos and we’ll be back soon with our Ten Great Singles and Ten Amazing Videos released in the month of November.

NEW SINGLES

Our first single this week comes from Alexandria Maillot.  This one has a great alternative rock vibe with powerful lyrics.  Check out “Someone to Keep you Warm.”

Our next single combines the sound of two of our favorites – Whitney Houston and Patti Labelle – to form a sweet and smooth jam called “Out of my ooo.”  We simply love the sound of Jessica Wilde and can’t wait to see what comes next.

We introduced you to the sweet and sensual sound of Emmrose last month, and she’s back with an even better song this month.  Here’s “Hopeless Romantics” for your consideration.  We think this artist definitely has “the goods.”

Single number four has a harder edge and features the dynamic London duo called Revolvers.  According to the title of their single, we are living in “Confusing Times,” and we couldn’t agree more.

Our final single, “She” comes from Richmond, Virginia band She.   Their sound is almost experimental rock but with a touch of prog, and we like it.  We think you will too.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Our first video features the powerful and strong vocals of Rookes on her song, “Salvage.”  This is by far one of the best songs we have heard this year.  What do you think?

Back in the late 80s, most of us loved a band called the Spin Doctors, composed of Chris Barron and Eric Schenkman.  When the band broke up, Barron began pursuing an indie career as a singer-songwriter, while Schenkman continue his mastery of the guitar.  Well, Schenkman is back with his latest song, “Agent Orange Blues,” and we are glad he is.  It’s a total departure from the Spin Doctors.  Let us know what you think.

Video number three comes from Scotland’s gem, Baby Taylah, and is a visually stunning video that will appeal to anyone who loved and misses Game of Thrones.  Check out “Reclaim.”

We last featured Matt LeGrand back in September.  He returns with Mexican rapper Mestiza and delivers the smooth jam “I’ve Been Watching You.”  This one is guaranteed to get you in the mood.

We close out this edition of Monday Mashup with a beautiful cover video from Christafari of the Christian song “Way Maker,” which features the soulful reggae sound of Avion Blackman.  We love the reggae groove and the lyrics.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Monday mashup 2019: vol. 25

It’s another week and we’re celebrating my brother’s birthday today.   It’s the last official week of summer, and it’s finally starting to cool down in Oklahoma City as we head into the fall.  So many great songs and videos have been headed our way, and we’re glad to share these with you.

NEW SINGLES

First up this week is “Fine,” courtesy of The Honest Heart Collective.  We love this powerful and uplifting rock and roll song that deserves heavy rotation on the radio.  Let us know what you think.

Our next single is no less powerful although it comes from the singer-songwriter side of things and sounds closer to the style of Enya.  Listen carefully to Yvonne McDonnell and her song, “Mud,” all the way from the UK.

Single number 3 comes from S+C+A+R+R, a French up and coming R&B artist.  His first single, “White Lies,” is a great start to his future career.  Check it out here.

Single number four is “Reclaim” from Baby Taylah from Glasgow.  We love the beauty of the arrangement and think this one belongs on Top 40 radio.  Let us know what you think.

We close out our list of singles with the latest from American Matt LeGrand and Venezuelan Mestiza, “I’ve Been Watching You.”  It’s smooth and trendy, with its mixture of Latin hip-hop, soul and R&B.  We think it’s a solid hit.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

First up is a song that I can totally relate to, because it’s about the loss of your father, which I just experienced about 22 months ago.  This song is so well written and introspective but make sure you have some tissue handy.  Here is “Again for Me” by Kasador.

Our next video came out during our “black-out” period, but is worthy of sharing with you.  It is half-blues/half-classic rock and we love it.  Grab some “Lemonade” from Bobby Messano.

Combine the surf attitude of Huntington Beach, California with the rastafarian feel of Jamaica and you have DENM, who’s “Blowing up.”  This tune will provide you with the perfect farewell to summer song.

Video number four is a stunning interpretive dance for the latest from the amazing Erin K – “Sometimes.”  If this one doesn’t inspire you, then nothing will.  Hats off the the incredible dancing of Alex Neuff.

We close out this week with the unbelievable songwriting and voice of Los Angeles’ own Katie Ferrara.    Her voice says it all and the cinematography is absolutely beautiful, truly capturing the essence of her song “Loud and Proud.”  Come join the party.
