Ten great singles released in February 2018

Today we’ll take a break from our Get it or Forget it series and bring you ten of the amazing singles we have received that were released in February 2018.  They are in no particular order.  Here we go.

First up is “Apartment,” a jazzy and smooth single from a new project named Rubēhill.  We really love the groove of this song and think you will too.  We think this one could easily find a home on Top 40 radio.

Next up is an anthem for girl power by R&B/Soul artist GNA.  It’s called “Love Me” and we really do.  Considering this is Women’s History Month, we think it is the perfect single for the strong independent woman in your life.

Our third single comes from Toronto-based Freedom Baby, who we introduced to you last September.  It is a moving ballad called “When we Go,” and it gives us strength and purpose.  Let us know what you think.

Next up is an amazing European act named Garden City Movement, which just released their album, Apollonia.  The single is called “Bitter Moon,” and we think it has the right mix for American radio.

Every so often one of those voices comes around that you immediately stop and take notice, voices like Beyonce, Rhiannon, and Alicia Keys.  Allow us to introduce Yasmeen, who we think belongs in that list.  Here is an acoustic version of her hit, “Half of Me.”

Our next single comes from Atlanta-based artist Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics.  They have achieved great success in the digital world, due in no small part to the quality of their songs.  Although we don’t particularly like the intro, we do love the song, so check out “Call Out my Name.”

We think you’ll really love our next single, “Going to the Grave,” by the incomparable Karrie Hayward.  This song is hot.

Next up is the amazingly soulful voice of Saby Cheek with her single, “My Captain Jack.”  Wow – where has she been hiding.  We really love this sound.

Our next to the last single comes from indie pop outfit Arms Akimbo.  We love the beat and the feel of this potential radio smash, “Seven Mirrors.”

Our final single is “Wilder Days” by British pop band Tors.  We think it’s the perfect Top 40 tune to close out this edition.  Please let us know what you think.  It reminds us of so much that is still good about our Top 40 radio, and we strongly encourage the industry to check these guys out.

We’ll be back tomorrow with more Get it or Forget it.  Next Wednesday we will present ten of the best music videos released in February 2018.  Until then . . .
