Review: First off, let me tell you that these songs are NOT family-friendly. That being said, the sound is straight ahead rock with a smattering of punk thrown in for good measure. The music is high energy and classic rock-based, and after hearing the tunes on this CD, we can only imagine that they must have an equally enjoyable live show. This is the perfect band for the likes of LA’s KROQ, as well as other classic rock stations. The entire album kept us rocking, but we really liked “In too Deep,” “Insurgent,” “Borderline,” and “Dirty Mattress.”
Recommendation: If you like rock music, then this is a must-have for your collection. Check them out today.

Review: The sound is chill, with the sweet voice of Raavi rising above the smooth guitar riffs and steady drumbeat. The songs tug at your heartstrings, giving rise to powerful emotions that sweep over you in time with the beat. We love the cool almost Latin rhythms of “All Over Again,” the motherly peaceful feel of “I Think I Want,” the Tejano feel of “A Petty Waltz” (which also reminds us of Lenka), and the appropriately named closing track, “Perfect.” We only wish there was more available, and we can’t wait until their next release.
Recommendation: These guys are definitely worth a listen. Get them and check it out for yourselves.

Review: Joanne Tatham has a beautifully sweet voice and a full understanding of the essence of jazz. She has created a beautiful traditional sound from non-traditional songs, including jazz covers of such songs as musical composer Stephen Sondheim’s “Anyone can Whistle,” and pop hits including Phoebe Snow’s “Poetry Man” and Todd Rudgren’s “Can we Still be Friends?” She also turns in worthy covers of jazz standards “Love me or Leave Me” and “It Could Happen to You.” Tatham is a jazz vocalist for the future, showing that any song can be converted to this truly American genre.
Recommendation: If you love jazz, musicals or pop music, then you really should Get this one and add it to your eclectic collection.

Review: With an 80’s retro feel, Ellevator blasts onto American soil with this amazing debut EP. The upbeat and spacious vocals go well with the phat, full-bodied guitars and rhythm section laid down by our neighbors to the north. These songs would be a great addition to college and indie radio, as well as provide excellent placements for television, film and commercial application. We really love “New Survival,” “St. Cecelia,” “Voices” and the current single, “Hounds,” basically the entire EP!
Recommendation: Definitely give this international band a chance. Go out and Get it.

Review: Australia has given us another amazing indie band which has the passion of Springsteen in their vocals, coupled with the radio friendly pop/rock sound of the Goo Goo Dolls in their superb musicianship. We can relate to this band, which is named after lead singer and songwriter Pete Atkinson’s son, and is dedicated to fathers everywhere who have lost contact with their children because of an antiquated and biased legal system that caters to mothers instead of the best parent, regardless of gender. Darcy passed away in 2012 while in the care of the boyfriend of Atkinson’s ex-wife, and “Darcys Song” is a beautiful homage. Despite this sad history, the band strives to bring hope to the “good” fathers out there, who truly want the best for their children. We believe that this band and their message would do well on American radio, and strongly encourage our music industry professionals to check them out.
Recommendation: Definitely Get this one, and share its message of hope. It’s scheduled for release on May 18, so be the first in line to grab it.
