Ten great singles released in October 2019

We can hardly believe that it’s November already, although Mother Nature has been getting our attention with these dramatic weather changes.  At any rate, it’s time to close the books on October with our Ten Great Singles and Ten Amazing Videos articles, so sit back and enjoy the groove.

First up is the latest from singer-songwriter Nadia Vaeh with her Halloween-themed song, “1,000 cuts.”  We love the sound of this song and think it belongs on the radio.  We can’t wait to see her video of this cool song.

Our next single comes from The Brilliance, a group we introduced you to the first Monday in October.  They have another great new single that is worthy of your attention, and makes us even more excited about their forthcoming album which drops in January.  Here’s “Facebook.”

Single number three has a great smooth groove that should help jump start your Monday morning.  It comes to us from Danny Zee and we are excited to hear his new single “Blue Butterfly.”  Definitely check this one out.

We introduced you to Lucas Laufen back in September when he released his video for “A Million Miles From Love.”  His new single is just as amazing, as he shares that “I Know Where the Silence Is.”  This is beautiful and contemplative music that should be great for your next chill time.

We round out the first five singles with this potential monster hit from KTJ & Carly.  They want to take us dancing in the “Moonlight,” and we can’t wait to join them on the dance floor.

We start our second five off with the latest from LA Music Critic Award winner K Michelle Dubois.  Her new single, “Feast or Famine,” has a definite 80s rock vibe and we are so glad to have her back again.  Enjoy this one!

Speaking of the 80s, the latest from Most People, “Breathe,” is reminiscent of Duran Duran meets Hall & Oates, and has our toes tapping and our ears salivating for more.  Enjoy this soon to be classic song.

The sound of Late Night Thoughts is about to go mainstream.  This band is ready to pop and their new single, “Postcard Park” is worthy of heavy rotation and serious placements in film and television.

Single number nine is a future pop hit from Canadian Kristen Karma, who is writing a “Dear John” letter to her departed loved one.  This one has excellent lyrics with plenty to think about, and a perfect rap in the middle of the song.

We wrap things up with “Phoenix,” which is one of the most powerful songs we have heard in quite a while.  It comes from Noella Rain, who we introduced to you in August.  Her vocals soar and her message is definitely needed in today’s crazy world.  Hard to believe she’s only 16 years old!

Ten (plus five) great singles released in August 2019

After nine straight days of work, we finally have a day off (more or less, as there is an orientation session this afternoon for a new job).  We thought it an appropriate time to post our Ten Great Singles and Ten Amazing Videos article for the month of August.  We’re also throwing in an extra five for each one to make up for our inability to post earlier this month.  Definitely check each one out and let us know what you think about them.

Our first single comes to us from London with the emergence of The Valla.  The group has only been together since January of this year, but has already recorded an album and released a pair of singles, including “Anymore.”  We love the groove, and think you will too.

Next up is the latest from Right Coast Music recording artist Kicking Sunrise.  It’s called “Underneath” and reminds us of Maroon 5 – we dig it, and think it belongs on Top 40 radio.

Our third single comes from Roofers Union and reminds us of the Beatles.   They are a NYC-based collective and their latest is “Friends.”  We hope to hear a lot more from them.

Next up is the latest from The Hunna.  It is mildly explicit but seems to hit a chord of truth in the title “I Get High to Forget.”  It’s definitely worth checking out.

We’re one-third through our list with the latest from Australia’s Pat Tierney, a sweet tune that has plenty of meat.  Check out “My Sweet Love.”

Upbeat pop/rocker Veronica Fusaro kicks off our next set of five songs with “Rollercoaster.”  We are putting this one on repeat.  It will definitely put some zip in your step.

Next up is the latest from LA Music Critic Award winners Laini and the Wildfire.  Check out the fun and upbeat future Top 40 hit “DeLorean.”

Our next single is hot, with the K-POP sound of Polatropica on their single “Can’t Hold us Back.”  This one is made for dancing.

Next up is another great artist from Norway, Secret Treehouse.  Check out the serious subject matter contained in their latest single, “Sinking.”  Let their words “sink in” as you enjoy their groove.

We round out this set of five with The Needs, another Norwegian band composed of multi-award winning musicians.  We think you’ll love “Hey Wake Up.”

Our final set begins with the amazing teen singer-songwriter Noella Rain‘s latest single, “Black and White.”  Check out her soaring vocals and amazing songwriting skills.

Next up is the gritty country/folk sound of A&R Records’ PHIL.  This one belongs on American country radio, and we love it.  Check out “Me N my Guitar.”

A&R Records scores another placement with the latest from Olivia I Barker and her upbeat and funky tune, “Change Your Mind.”  Get your groove on with this one.

Film actress (Ouija) and amazing musical artist Sierra, along with her band The Radicals, bring us a fun Top-40 bound hit, “I Like You.”  This one is going on my repeat list.  If you’re in LA, check them out at the show at The Mint on September 14.

Our final single this month is “Fuck Your Cool” from Folk Road Show, a band that features LA Music Critic Award winner Dom Fricot.  This one is a rocking end to this month’s feature.
