Ten amazing videos released in November 2019

Well, we survived Black Friday, although I got food poisoning and had to stay home on Saturday to recuperate.  Back to normal today and ready to share these beautiful videos, so let’s get started.  But first, a special treat from our long-time friends, Karmina.

It’s been four years since they graced us with new music, but the lovely sisters have released three new audio videos, and let me tell you – this is some of their best stuff ever.  Here’s our favorite of the three, “We are Dragons.”  Let it give you the strength to be your best.

We kick things off this month with a cover of one of our all-time favorite rock songs, Robert Palmer‘s “Addicted to Love.”  The Black Heart Saints have done a great job of recreating his energy and have given us a creative gem of a video.  Enjoy.

Next up is a holiday video from Toni Monroe which features Korvette, “Santa’s Cookies.”  This one is fun, upbeat and creative to get your Christmas spirit running.

Video number three is a creative dance number from Aaron Sibley for his song, “Holiday Love.”  Enjoy this one.

Our next video is for the song “Signs,” which recently went viral for Jay Copes.  This one’s got it all, and we are proud to share it with you.

Last month we shared the single “Facebook” by The Brilliance.  This month they’re back with an intriguing video for the song, which is visually interesting and adds power to the lyrical content.  Check it out.

We move next to the psychedelic world of RAPTOR, with their gem of a video for “Escapism.”  This one is truly influenced by the music of the 60s, but with a fresh new feel.

Video number seven is probably our favorite video this month and introduces us to the awesome talent of Opāru for her song, “Ghost to Follow.”  This one deserves to be played again and again, and enjoyed more and more every time.  It reminds us of Burning Man.

Our next video is a powerful statement about the assassination of JFK by the band Minutes to Midnight.  This one will definitely get you thinking.  Thanks for the history lesson.

Mia Ayana is an up and coming R&B singer from Las Vegas who has delivered a gem that truly shows off her “Potential.”  Keep your eyes on this lady.

We close out the month with another powerful concept video about overcoming oppression.  Here is Jody Cooper‘s take on it as told in his song, “Song for the Oppressed (Cruelty Dies.”

Artists Worth Checking Out indie music Ten Great Singles

Ten great singles released in October 2019

We can hardly believe that it’s November already, although Mother Nature has been getting our attention with these dramatic weather changes.  At any rate, it’s time to close the books on October with our Ten Great Singles and Ten Amazing Videos articles, so sit back and enjoy the groove.

First up is the latest from singer-songwriter Nadia Vaeh with her Halloween-themed song, “1,000 cuts.”  We love the sound of this song and think it belongs on the radio.  We can’t wait to see her video of this cool song.

Our next single comes from The Brilliance, a group we introduced you to the first Monday in October.  They have another great new single that is worthy of your attention, and makes us even more excited about their forthcoming album which drops in January.  Here’s “Facebook.”

Single number three has a great smooth groove that should help jump start your Monday morning.  It comes to us from Danny Zee and we are excited to hear his new single “Blue Butterfly.”  Definitely check this one out.

We introduced you to Lucas Laufen back in September when he released his video for “A Million Miles From Love.”  His new single is just as amazing, as he shares that “I Know Where the Silence Is.”  This is beautiful and contemplative music that should be great for your next chill time.

We round out the first five singles with this potential monster hit from KTJ & Carly.  They want to take us dancing in the “Moonlight,” and we can’t wait to join them on the dance floor.

We start our second five off with the latest from LA Music Critic Award winner K Michelle Dubois.  Her new single, “Feast or Famine,” has a definite 80s rock vibe and we are so glad to have her back again.  Enjoy this one!

Speaking of the 80s, the latest from Most People, “Breathe,” is reminiscent of Duran Duran meets Hall & Oates, and has our toes tapping and our ears salivating for more.  Enjoy this soon to be classic song.

The sound of Late Night Thoughts is about to go mainstream.  This band is ready to pop and their new single, “Postcard Park” is worthy of heavy rotation and serious placements in film and television.

Single number nine is a future pop hit from Canadian Kristen Karma, who is writing a “Dear John” letter to her departed loved one.  This one has excellent lyrics with plenty to think about, and a perfect rap in the middle of the song.

We wrap things up with “Phoenix,” which is one of the most powerful songs we have heard in quite a while.  It comes from Noella Rain, who we introduced to you in August.  Her vocals soar and her message is definitely needed in today’s crazy world.  Hard to believe she’s only 16 years old!

Monday mashup 2019: vol. 28

And just like that we have moved into the month of October.  Today we’re enjoying our first day off work in nearly three weeks, and we took the time to go out looking for a somewhere to live (we’ve been crashing in my brother’s RV since we arrived here in July), went shopping for warm clothes (because all our stuff is in storage in Montana which is already under a blanket of snow), and otherwise took it easy.  We apologize for not getting more reviews done but frankly have not had the time (or energy) to do them after working long shifts).  We do hope to get back to them shortly.  In the meantime, here is our first Monday Mashup of October.

ANDY GRAMMER ON TOUR

Pop star Andy Grammer is currently on his “Don’t Give Up on Me” tour which will make a stop in Oklahoma City on October 15.  We will be there to review the show, and finally get the chance to meet him.  We have known his wife Aijia for more than 10 years, so this will be a treat for us.  Watch for the review soon.

NEW SINGLES

Our first single for this month comes from the alt-rock sound of Alex McArtor.  She is a dynamic performer and lays it all out with her single “Speed Into Air.”  We really love this track and can’t wait to hear the rest of her forthcoming album.

Next up is “Another Boy from The Last Morrell.  This one will bring back memories of early Billy Joel, and we simply love it.

Our next single has a throwback vibe reminiscent of Electric Light Orchestra, and we think now is the perfect time to introduce you to The Brilliance and their first single, “World Keeps Spinning .”  This one will get you grooving – kick back and enjoy it.

Our fourth single shines a spotlight on mental health via the incredibly gorgeous sound of singer-songwriter Ann King.  We hope that we will all become “Stronger” from listening to these words.

Our final single this week is from Geneva White, whose silky smooth vocals highlight the passion and power of her single “Frame.”  This is definitely an artist to keep on your radar – we think she is about to blow up.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Our first video includes the haunting sound of Young Clancy, coupled with eerie cinematography on the hard-hitting song, “Up With the Birds.”  We are so glad we got the chance to experience this amazing artist.

Next up is a unique POV video from the band King Hiss for their song, “GTWHR.”  This one is a hard-hitting rock song that becomes even more powerful with the manner it was shot – almost like you were on stage with them.  Rock out on this one.

Our third video has a decidely 80s vibe and we truly dig it.  Check out “Private Show” from Black Marble.

Next up is the latest from Blue Élan Records artist and LA Music Critic Awards winner Chelsea Williams.  It is a stirring cover of Jackson Browne’s “These Days.”  This one will hit you right where you need it.

We close out this week’s indie roundup with the latest video from KidEyes for his single, “Malibu.”  We think we can all relate to the frustrations depicted in this video, while grooving to this incredible tune.
