Artists Worth Checking Out Ten Amazing Videos Women in Entertainment

Ten amazing videos released in August 2018

As summer draws to a close, it’s still been a busy month for indie artists, who continue to bombard us with amazing videos.  Here are ten that we couldn’t fit into our Monday Mashup series, but are worthy of your consideration.

Our first video is from a band that we featured back in July and we really love their music and imaginative lyrics.  Here’s “Heart Boner” from Ninja Sex Party.  Can  you dig it?

Our next video comes from Scottish duo Free Love, with French lyrics from lead singer Suzanne Roden.  We think you will love this dance track featuring their singles “Pushing Too Hard” and “July.”

Next up is a beautiful video from Louise Marshall, inspired by a particularly hopeless time in her life.  Check out her song “Ocean” and see if it gives you goosebumps like it did for us.

Our fourth video comes from the amazing voice of Desanka.  We really love the sound of “Heart on a String” and think you will too.

At the midway point this month is an upbeat video from Dean Everett Jackson which we think is just the ticket for the weekend.  Here’s “Silver Linings.”  This is his first video, and we are extremely impressed.

Our next video is from Dead Ceremony, a band we have already featured three times because we just love their vision.  Check out their latest video for “Heartache.”

Our seventh video is “Rio” from Mexican singer-songwriter Vanessa Zamora.  We love the Spanish lyrics, and moving dance beat and the feel of this video.

Check out this amazing live video from Canadian country rock band Wave 21 for their song, “Ya Ya Ya.”

Video number 9 comes from Australian Max C Bud.  We love his indie rock sound and think you will too.  Check out “Temptress.”

Our final video this month is from Defanico and features Avanti in their video “You Make me Feel.”  We love the 80’s feel of the song and think it is the perfect way to end this edition of Ten Amazing Videos.

Ten great singles released in July 2018

We are so inspired after spending yesterday working with the amazing artists at The Decemberists’ Travelers Rest Festival in Missoula, Montana.  We discovered some amazing talent we had not previously known about, like indie band Lenore and indie artists Waxahatchee and Matt the Electrician.

Here are ten great singles we didn’t have room to share this month in our Monday Mashup article.  We hope they inspire you as they have inspired us.

The first single comes from an artist who has been featured several times before, and continues to impress us.  Here’s “Keep On” by the amazing guitarist Jackie Venson.

Next up is a pair of singles from Glasgow-based disco duo Free Love (formerly Happy Meals).  The featured single is “Pushing too Hard,” which we really love, as well as a bonus track “July.”  Check out their vibe.

Our third single is from a band we featured in June.  “Liars and Thieves” is the latest from Becoming Bristol, and it confirms our belief in the future of the band.  Let us know what you think.

Our fourth single is “Chapel of Pines” from the forthcoming new album by Waxahatchee, who we fell in love with after her powerful performance at yesterday’s Festival.  We think she will have your devotion too after you hear this song.

Next up is “Speaking Fire,” a powerful new song from Samsaruh.  We think this one will power you into the next week.  Enjoy!

We start our second five singles with the title track from the new EP by Dead Ceremony.  Check out “Heartache.”

Our seventh single is from R&B/Soul artist Conrad the Third.  Chill out to the amazing sound of “Get you Alone.”

Single number eight is a throw-back to the tender ballads of the 70’s.  Check out “Lazy Love” from debut artist Johnny Payne.

Next up is the debut single from the new album by Here are the Lions.  Check out “Unsatisfied.”  We love the upbeat and the potential for radio airplay for this group.

Our final single today comes from Matthew Perryman Jones, and we simply love it.  We’ll close for this edition with “Anything Goes.”

Monday mashup 2018: vol. 25

Happy Monday!  So glad to have another opportunity to share new music with you.  It’s gonna be busy now since I just started working full-time as of yesterday, but we will still get  you lots of great music to review and consider.  Here is what’s new this week.

WORLD PREMIERE SNEAK PREVIEWS

We have been asked to premiere a couple of songs for you this week.  Both of these songs will be available for purchase or streaming on Friday, July 20.

First up is Liron, who reminds us of the best of Arianna Grande but with her own passion.  Please enjoy her new song “Pina Colada” and don’t forget to visit your favorite retailer (itunes, Spotify, etc) on Friday to download it or stream it for yourself.  Definitely check out her website for all the links.  We think you’ll be hearing a lot more from this future pop princess.

Our second premiere is from the sophomore album of Chelsea Gill, a pop-country artist from Nashville, courtesy of our friend, Gayle Davidson.  Expectations are high for this bright young artist, and we think she has a definite chance at making it big.  Check out “Ray-Bans” and visit her website for links to more of her music.

NEW SINGLES

Our next single today comes from Australian Tom Ugly, who wants to know “Who is the real villain?”  Check out his upbeat and funky “Villain” and watch for the music video to come soon.

Kris Angelis is one of our favorite artists from Los Angeles, and we have followed her career since the beginning.  Her latest single, “Stained Glass,” was released last Friday, and we think it is one of her best ever.  We can’t wait for her upcoming EP, and think you should definitely check her out.

Our final single this week is from one of the best blues singers in the country, Gina Sicilia.  Her eighth studio album will be out August 31, and we can’t wait.  In the meantime, enjoy “Heard the Lie.”

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Our first video this week is from a vegan who has reached her limits.  Junk Wave premieres their spicy and audacious video “Dirty Fat Burger,” and we think you’ll be extra hungry for it.  This one comes courtesy of our friends at Red Boot PR.  Let us know what you think.

Our next video is from Ninja Sex Party and features Finn Wolfhard from the popular Netflix series Stranger Things.  Check out “Danny Don’t you Know,” which we absolutely love!  The new album will be out August 7.

Our third video is from the amazing Ivory Layne, whose new album just dropped.  We love her pop sound, and think you will likewise love “Committed.”

Our next video finds Kid Bloom at your “Parents House.”  Enjoy this pop-rock smash and stay tuned for more from this up and coming band.

Our final video today is from Dead Ceremony.  We featured the single version of “All This Noise” back in May and are happy to now share their lyric video.  Have a great week.

LA MUSIC CRITIC AWARD WINNERS SHOWCASE

Don’t forget about our showcase on June 19 at The Mint, a world famous venue on West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles.  We have 10 winners scheduled to perform, plus a special appearance by the original 90’s band Shiragirl prior to them leaving on the final Vans Warped Tour.  Tickets are available by clicking this link.  Don’t miss the chance to see the legendary Rusty Young of Poco perform.

Our second single comes from Sonofa King, the son of the legendary Ben E. King, who has recorded a cover of his father’s biggest hit, “Stand by Me.”  It is part of a tribute album he made, which covers ten songs performed by his dad.  Watch for our album review shortly.

Next up is the new single, “All This Noise,” from the forthcoming EP by Dead Ceremony.  We love the vibe of this future pop hit, and can’t wait to review their EP.

Our fourth single today is so hot you’d be a “Fool” not to love it.  Check out the latest from Canadian R&B singer Sara Diamond.

Our final single is “Just in Case,” courtesy of Christina Custode, an artist we previously featured here on Monday Mashup.  She reminds us of Sara Bareilles, and we love it.

NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

First up is the band Pros & Icons, who are trying to upstage Taylor Swift by releasing a video cover of her song “I Did Something Bad” before she has the chance to do so.  It is a bold endeavor, and we think they nailed it.  What do  you think?

Next is Franny and Zooey, an Australian duo with heavenly harmonies.  Check out their video for “My Love.”  We want to hear this one on the radio.

Our third video comes from Swedish singer Alice Boman, with a live performance of her song “Heartbeat.”  This one will take your breath away.

Our next music video is for all the David Bowie fans.  Check out “Perfectly Imperfect,” the first video by The Sick Bags.  Let us know what you think.

Our final video this week comes from Stephen Michael Murphy, and is a lyric video for his song “Never Ever Here.”  We think it’s the perfect song to close out this edition of Monday Mashup.
